Cynefin and Constraints

with Liz Keogh

Human beings tend to crave predictability. Change agents, coaches and consultants are no exception! We go in with our hopes high, aiming for outcomes that we know will be good for the business and proven processes that worked elsewhere… and that's when we discover how hard it is, what contexts will prevent us, who will resist us and why “That will never work here”.

In this talk Liz introduces some different ways of looking at our world of work and change through mapping Cynefin's constraints, giving us different ways of approaching change and innovation through “adjacent possibles”; and correlates these to Wardley Mapping and others to show how organizations need different kinds of constraints as they, and their products and services, mature.
