I ask the class, “Does that make sense?” and see a sea of smiling faces nodding. I think to myself, “Great! We nailed it.”
Some of the most pointless questions asked by trainers:
- “Does that make sense?”
- “Is that clear?”
- “Did everyone get that?”
We've all been guilty of using something like this from time to time. How do learners know if it makes sense? Maybe their understanding of what they have just learned is wrong and makes complete sense to them? Totally pointless! No help for learners and no help for trainers.
On the other hand, if we use C3 Concrete Practice from Sharon Bowman‘s Training from the BACK of the Room!, we help learners remember and deepen their understanding of their learning. Trainers are also able to see if the learning made sense, is clear, and that everyone got that. Happy days! ๐
